Packing for the beach

A day at the beach is a perfect way to spend an afternoon. Being prepared will make for a better day. Following is a list of recommended items.

  •  Aloe Vera gel
  • Baby powder – gets the sand off sticky bodies
  • Bags to collect trash, treasures, and wet clothes/towels
  • Beach towels
  • Beach umbrella(s)
  • Boogie board
  • Camera with fresh batteries
  • Change of clothing
  • Cover-ups
  • First aid kit
  • Frisbee
  • Hats for everyone
  • Kite for the kids
  • Lightweight beach chairs
  • Lots of water to drink
  • Old, flat sheets – sand comes off them better than towels. Use the sheets for tablecloths, for laying on, for making a wind break or shade structure.
  • PFD, life-vest – for kids who may run into the water
  • Reading material
  • Sand toys – buckets, shovels, cookie cutters, etc.
  • Shovel
  • Small cooler with ice
  • Sunglasses for everyone
  • Sunscreen
  • Surf board
  • Swim suits
  • Swimming suits
  • Warm clothing for a change in weather
  • Water socks or shoes
