Thanksgiving & holiday meal supplies

Thanksgiving and December holidays are coming up - are you prepared? Following is a list of ingredients and supplies that you might want to have on hand for your holiday cooking. Shop early to cut down on stress!

PRODUCE

  • Apples - 3 to 4 pounds apples, Granny Smith are good
  • Butternut squash
  • Carrots – 3-5 pounds
  • Celery – 1-2 large bunches
  • Cranberries – 16 ounces, whole cranberries, fresh or frozen
  • Leeks - 1 bunch
  • Lemons – 3
  • Lettuce – 2 heads
  • Mushrooms - 1 pound
  • Onions – 2 pounds
  • Oranges – 3
  • Pears – 3
  • Potatoes – 6 pounds, Russet or Yukon Gold
  • Pumpkin - several cups of pumpkin puree
  • Sweet potatoes – 5 pounds

PACKAGED AND PREPARED FOODS

  • Bread – 1 loaf
  • Chicken broth – 3 cans
  • Crackers
  • Cranberry sauce - 1 can
  • Lemon juice
  • Pumpkin - canned
  • Stuffing – 1 box of prepared stuffing (in case of homemade stuffing runs out, or doesn’t work out)

DAIRY

  • Butter – 2 pounds
  • Cheese - 2 pounds of assorted variety
  • Cream – 2 pints of heavy cream
  • Eggs – 1-2 dozen
  • Milk - 1 gallon
  • Sour cream – 1 large tub

  • Baking powder
